Toilet, Fog & Clover

Finally wrapping up our San Fransisco trip … but I couldn't not share these.

What is Tim doing?!?!

This was Tim's favorite display at the Exploratorium.  I think it was about perception.  Whatever it was about, we thought it was hilarious!

Weston enjoyed more fog.  He is still our happy clapper!

We took these as we were walking through a park along the bay.  It was a few days before St. Patty's day and I just couldn't resist!

All in all, it was a great trip … we packed tons into a couple short days, wore ourselves completely out, took some fun pictures and made lots of memories.

Hilltop View

This is a little out of order.  Oh well.  We took these on Friday evening after our Bay Tour. We decided to climb up one of the hills to take some pictures with a bird's eye view.  It was awesome.  Even worth the burning thigh muscles.  As you can tell from the pics, that was no small hill.  People actually live on these streets.  I can't imagine.  I even saw people jogging these hills.  Certifiable in my book.

Anyway, it was a great view and we got some more fun pictures.  As you may have noticed though, I failed as a photographer on this trip and didn't capture enough pictures of my boys together.  Can't let that happen again.  But aren't they cute?!?!

Sweet (sloppy) sugar!

Oh no!  He finally noticed the earrings!!  Help!

Thrill vs. Fear
Cute picture, but you can tell exactly what I'm thinking … Hurry before he grabs for the earrings again!

If everybody had an ocean ...

… across the USA … then everybody'd be surfin' … like Californ-i-a!  Can't get enough of the Beach Boys.  They brighten any day.

(I'm finally back to trying to finish our San Francisco trip … yup, we've been home over a month … but I figure this way, we are just prolonging the memories … right?!?!)

Before going to the beach, we visited the Exploratorium (which was the coolest museum of its kind that I've ever been to … more on this later … maybe?) we headed over to the Presidio area of the city, on the bay side, for lunch and playing at the beach.

Before making it there, we witnessed quite a site … a large group of almost all male bicyclists … who were completely nude.  Only in San Francisco (hopefully).  Thank goodness we didn't have to try and explain that to Weston.  And you'll just have to take our word for it, because we didn't take any photo evidence.

After that odd experience, we ate outside at the Beach Hut Cafe where I may have had the most perfect sandwich in all the world (sourdough bread, tuna, olive oil, lemon juice, red peppers, artichokes … all of my favorites wrapped into one!) with the most beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge.  This began my favorite memory of our trip.  I also happen to think that Weston was looking especially adorable in his outfit this day.  He's so big.
Awesome kid-sized adirondack chair.  Perfect for climbing in and out of, not so much for sitting and eating ;)
Our precious, curious boy.

Not in the mood for pictures …

really guys … I MUST keep playing.  there is no time for this silliness.

Then we headed over for what was Weston's second visit to the beach (remember this?), but he definitely could enjoy it WAY more this time.  (And maybe one of these days he'll get to go to the beach NOT in the wintertime.)  The sand was especially delicious fun. And the dogs, well, they were the stars of the show in Weston's eyes for sure.
Cautiously checking it out.  (And it was a touch windy … check out my hair!)
Love that this one shows the Golden Gate in the background.  My husband is quite the budding photographer!

Walks with Sandy Feet & Lifts with Crazy Hair

Finger lickin' good!
What? Is there something on my face?

After getting our fill of the sand (some of us a little more full than others, literally) … we said goodbye to the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge and started walking along the bay in the direction of Fisherman's Wharf to continue this wonderful day.

Velcro.  The perfect stroller toy.  Except when shoes come off.  Then its less than perfect.  Way less.

But isn't he cute?  He really did great for how much time he spent in the stroller.

Such interesting architecture all over the city.  These houses are just across the street from where we played on the beach … imagine how wonderful the views!  But I can't imagine the cost to live there!
This gives you an idea how far we walked, and we were only about 2/3 of the way there.  It was perfect weather and very relaxing.  The buildings below us are of Fort Mason.
This gives you a great view of where we had been.

Alcatraz.

To be continued … :)

So Shy?

Not in the least. Check out these dance moves he busted out today during an impromptu dance party by some older (5-7 yo) girls at Chick-fil-a. He's becoming quite the little show-off! He loves making people laugh and playing with the big kids.

YouTube Video

We first met three of the kids just a few minutes before this up inside the play structure. He immediately did anything he could to make them laugh, which they did, which made him act even sillier. He entertained them for several minutes. It was hilarious!

He's so trusting. Did you notice how he reached for one of the older (7yo) girls to help him down? I told you he makes friends everywhere we go!

A (very) tired bear on a boat

These photos tell the story of our very, very tired bear and his boat trip through the bay late Friday afternoon.  With such a short time in the city, Buddy had to make it on just one nap a day.  We thought all the new things would be enough to keep him entertained … but that only lasted so long … and not nearly as long as we thought.  But, we tried to make the most of it.  San Francisco is such a wonderful city and the bay is full of beautiful sights and rich history.  Tim manned the camera and soaked up all the history and I tried to tame the bear and enjoyed the wind in my hair (I'm a poet).  We enjoyed it and definitely made some memories!  Grizzly bear or no grizzly bear.

Be fore-warned, there are lots of pictures on this post … many that look very much the same.  But they all make me laugh remembering all the different stages of the melt down and the different antics I tried to keep it at bay (pun intended) as much as possible.  Many of these are some of my favorites from the trip.
Zoned out. Tell me there is a bed on this thing.

Really.  Need sleep.

Giving it my best.  Don't think he's buying.

This works.  Nothing better than my cuddly bear!  A favorite pic for sure.

W was not a huge fan of the wind.

Taking refuge inside.  Excellent idea.

Kisses for daddy outside.
Look … almost a smile!

Tasting the wind?!?

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

And he's done.

He's Weston the Sailor Man. Toot. Toot.

That wasn't very funny, Mom.

But Daddy is funny!  Yay!

Rounding the Rock, melt down was imminent.  This was the calm before the storm.

And even a little smile :)
